Waldorf inspired doll

good morning crafters
stopping by with my final share for this week.
this is an up-date on a doll i started last november who was destined to be a ballerina but sadly i didn't make a tutu, instead like most of the dolls i have created i have made her a knitted dress and cardigan. the name i have chosen to bring this little cutie to life is Belle, as we are now in spring the colours of her outfit reminded me of bluebells. a little cheesy i know but her name does suit her.

small list of materials used (including some links)
pattern for the dress is from: Mary Janes Tearoom
rowan lace for her dress, rowan kidsilk haze for her cardigan (john lewis)
and other items:
hair: mohair weft
head fabric: laib yala swiss fabric Little oke dolls
DMC: embroidary thread
bees wax crayon

i am busy learning how to make paper flowers for my card making and hopefully soon i will have some more greetings cards to share with you all.

thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day

Daisy-Mae a new doll

 good morning all
sharing a new doll that i recently made
this is Daisy a small 10 1/2" hand sewn doll using all natural fibres and fabrics (based on waldorf dolls) complete with knitted dress.

i had planned on making and selling my dolls as toys for small children (as heirloom gifts for when they are older)  but for the life of me i can't bring myself round to carry out the test that are needed to certify them as a toy in particular setting fire to them.
i understand the necessary procedure i really do but i can't get past it.
so for now the dolls i have made are safely stored away until i have carried out more research.

Daisy is approx 10 1/2" tall
small list of materials used (including some links)
pattern for the dress is adapted from: Mary Janes Tearoom, using milburn 4ply from

and other items:
mohair weft, skin fabric, natural wool stuffing:  Little oke dolls
eyes: DMC: embroidary thread
blushed cheeks: bees wax crayon

thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day

birthday wishes no4

 good morning to you all
popping in today with my latest birthday card make
on my card today
BIRTHDAY WISHES
has been used as my main die greetings.
the sentiment has been carefully trimmed by removing the word belated, the word belated sat above the word birthday.

i have to admit i am intrigued with all the stunning cards i stumble across on Pinterest especially the shabby chic designs by very talented crafters, so much so i have decided to have a go and above is my second attempt and i have used stamperia products. to create my card i had to decide which pages i was going to use from my paper pad, do some fussy cutting (ballerina & statement tags) do a little paper distressing and mounting, die cutting (frame & sentiments) and finally deciding which embellishments to add.
i found it strange that i wasn't colouring an image with my distress ink...
total time it took to make my card was two and half hours from start to finish.

above some of the goodies that where used to create my card.

my supplies:
white DL base card
Dies: LDRS, sue wilson (sentiments)
papers: white card, designer papers by: Stamperia
embellishments: wild orchid roses, various pink stamens (sizzix), ballerina slipper (faceted sequins and beads by sizzix)
distress ink: walnut stain (pen) to stain the edges of my fussy cut items.
foam tape, tacky glue & double sided tape.

thanks for stopping by enjoy your day.

birthday wishes no3

hi and good morning
popping in with my final share for this week.

for today's card i have tried a new style of layout after watching on you-tube a Lady E video, it all looks so easy until it's your turn. i have relied on one of my dies to create my frame (three layers of 160gsm card) and various flowers and bits n bobs i have in my stash, and i've added one of my SB's images as i felt the frame looked a little bare.
note to self: i need to purchase some DL card bases and lots of foam tape for future cards in this style.

goodies i have used:

colours:
skin: vintage photo, tattered rose, worn lipstick
hair: antique linen, walnut stain
Dress: broken china, tumbled glass
bottle: peeled paint, broken china

and my supplies:
fade resistant dye ink: memento - expresso truffle
Tim Holtz:  distress ink
Fabriano 5 - water colour paper
6" x 6" base card
Dies: joy crafts, sue wilson (belated wishes)
papers: white card, designer papers by: lemoncrafts
stamps: Stampingbella - Opal the optimist
embellishments: wild orchid roses, blue stamens, glittery blue berries, white glass berries, stick on pearls, blue satin ribbon

thanks for stopping by enjoy your day.

Merry Christmas 1

popping in with a christmas kind of a cas style share today.
i have a total of seven cards from my september 2020 colouring fest and yesterday's birthday card was the start.
my card today:
i don't think this qualifies for a total cas style card as it's not all white (still learning) but i am led to believe you can add a pop of a coloured panel but it think my designer paper covers too much of the card...

skin: vintage photo, tattered lace, worn lipstick
hair: shaded lilac
dress: spun sugar, worn lipstick
wings: shaded lilac
crescent moon

fade resistant dye ink: memento - expresso truffle
