Kitty re-work

evening crafters
popping in to share a little re-work i have done on Kitty (again).
i re-made her head again as i'm now getting the hang of the process you go through creating a Waldorf style doll. i still have lots to learn and i'm hope full that i manage to attend a workshop in the near future as i prefer hands on rather than following a book or you tube. (it's jus a me thing).
i will add the books i already have are really helpful and the video tutorials i have sat and watched through are really informative but they can't tell you where you are going wrong which is where i struggle..

for the re-work i have carefully removed her head from the body, carefully removed her wig from her head, re-made the head making sure that i didn't make it too big to fit the body. carefully put her all back together again and i pleased to say she has turned out gorgeous.

that's all for this evening, join me again soon for my next doll (a boy) and cards that i am working on.

April

 hi everyone
stopping by to share another completed Waldorf/Mary Jane tearoom inspired doll.
April has been loving made using a variety of natural yarns, threads and filling.
as spring is in the air i have chosen colours to match the season, hues of beautiful green, lilacs, pinks and warm white for her clothes and a warm blonde wig.

April has a lovely pink/mauve dress (lace yarn) complete with a beautiful multi coloured cardigan (conniston fingering yarn). her wig has been hand made using wild brush-able mohair and i have plaited it to one side and added a small pink ribbon.

April has been hand knitted (body, clothes & wig), needle felted and hand sewn (head) from start to finish.

small list of materials used (including links)
pattern for the body is from: Mary Janes Tearoom
yarns used for her body are from:
and other items:
wig: wild brush-able mohair
&
face fabric: de-witte jersey
the lace yarn was in my stash.

as always i like to give a shout out to those that inspire me on my projects:

Susan Hickson: mary jane tearoom dolls
lalia dolls

little oke dolls
to name a few.

i do love stamps by Lili of the Valley and was estatic when they recently released some polymer stamps that quickly ended up in my basket, and today i'm sharing my first creation using Grace.

thier images feel slightly smaller than the rubber stamps but they are adorable non the less.
it felt like forever since my distress re-inkers were out and i have to admit i felt a little rusty.

on the colouring front my thirst to colour and create cards has not fully returned and it's small steps again at the minute (doll making keeps distracting me lol) my craft room is a little cluttered and now my kitchen is near completion i can move my boxes back to the kitchen and start to enjoy my craft room again.

colours used:
skin: vintage photo, tattered lace, worn lipstick
hair: walnut stain, antique linen
dress: broken china, faded jeans, mowed lawn, chipped sapphire, victorian velvet, spun sugar, aged mahogany.
flowers and ground: aged mahogany, mowed lawn, old paper

and my supplies:
fade resistant dye ink: memento - expresso truffle
Tim Holtz:  distress ink
Fabriano 5 - water colour paper
7"x7" base card
papers: cream card, designer paper: lemon craft
