a most gracious and generous hostess.

north coast dolls workshop clacton on sea

hi and good morning to all

back to share photo's from my recent North Coast Doll workshop over the spring bank holiday weekend with Meglena in Clacton on sea as promised.

i have to admit i was concentrating so much that i didn't take any photo's of my dolls progress until the end. i am throughly amazed with the doll i created and i also learned some valuable new techniques including crocheting a weft, needle felting the body, head and facial features to stuffing the doll.

the workshop was hosted by Anita in her home and her generosity was off the scale with the two lunches that she provided including home made quiche's and lemon drizzle cake, they were scrummy. it was lovely to meet my fellow students Naomi, Yve and Giovanna. i am exhilarated and exhausted and what's worst was i forgot to switch my alarm off on bank holiday monday, we were woken at 5:15 so i didn't get the lie in i was hoping for.

to my surprise Meglena had provided a dress for the all the dolls that were created over the two intensive days but i had taken with me a little pixie hat and matching dress i had made.

the doll is complete with a turning head, bum cheeks and a beautiful honey blonde weft wig, there are a few things i need to improve on and to make a pair of brief's and socks and possibly a cardigan.

and finally i would like you all to meet
Gwendolyn.
thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day
and craft happy, Ann

a thank you card for Meglena:

hi and welcome to my share for today.
a simple thank you card using one of my lili of the valley stamps:
rosie posy (discontinued)

todays card is a peek-a-boo card, i have made one or two in the past and like a numpty this time i forgot the process and i have muggled my way through.....

my card is for a lovely lady who i finally got to meet on saturday at her workshop in clacton-on-sea, i had booked one of her workshops back in 2020 that was to be hosted in Devon but covid struck and it was cancelled and thankfully new workshops were advertised earlier this year here in the uk and some abroad and i didn't hesitate to book.
i attended a North Coast Dolls workshop with Meglena.
her dolls are exquisite and over this bank holiday weekend i will have attended her uk workshop learning how to create a beautiful needle felted dolls head with features, including how to stuff her body correctly and create a crochet wig.
i just hope everything i am shown this weekend sinks in.

back to the card:
for this card i have painted my image with distress ink, used some beautiful papers from maja design's new collection: mum's garden.

i will do another post in the near future with a little more about my doll making weekend but for now when this goes live i will be exhilarated, exhausted, hopefully still fast a sleep recovering in readiness for our journey back home to westhoughton.

finally:
thanks for stopping by, enjoy your bankholiday monday and
craft happy, Ann

birthday wishes - stampingbella

good morning one and all
well it's monday morning again and i thought i would share another of my card projects.
today's image is Edna loves ice cream from stampingbella (retired).
i do love these bella's i have a few in my stamp haul some current and some retired but they are all fun images to colour.

my colouring journey begins, i always start with colouring the skin, most of the time i know what colour conbination i will be using but this image sat on my desk like this for a few days until i could decide which colours to use.
i decided this image was going to be in blue and i have used four different shades of blue distress ink, i started on the dress and thought what the heck Edna is going to have blue hair, blue wings, shoes and a bubble gum coloured ice cream with a little chocolate and cream topping....

below my image just after i'd finished my background stamping, there was a tiny mistake, i'd forgotten to cut out the footwell area on the mask, so i had to rectify, cut out, re-attach the mask and thankfully the small stamp i'd chosen covered the area perfectly...
