Ruby's Christmas Present

meet Ruby's pressie

good morning crafters a welcome to my share for today.
something a little different from me
I have made a rag doll for my Granddaughter this Christmas and I have to say it's been a really long long time since I have sewn or knitted anything but after getting hooked on images of Waldorf and Tilda dolls I felt I needed to have a go and this is my completed doll.
iv'e had a few hiccups along the way due to not having many instructions, and as always I trawled the internet to source materials and how to's and had to unearth some of my knowledge of sewing and knitting and I'm pleased to say she looks pretty cute.

I have created a cute hat and scarf

and I made a pretty dress

and the only thing that's missing are socks and shoes
they are next on my list of things to learn and make
on making my next dolls:
I really had to blow away all the cobwebs on my sewing and knitting skills as it must be over twenty years since I had made anything, my children were pre school and they are in their 30's now.

my materials & were to purchase:
little okie dolls: http://www.waldorfdolls.co.uk
silk screen doll body 12" (little okie dolls)
hair: 4ply white wool (hobby craft)
eyes: brown embroidery thread (hobby craft)
dress: fat quarter of material (hobby craft), white t shirt material & white tulle (underskirt)
hat & scarf: Wendy fleur dk (country baskets)
embellishment: wooden button ( country baskets)

for information on how to make these dolls visit:

I have surpassed my expectations on this cute doll and I will probably adapt the pattern a little as I did struggle to put it together
for my next doll I will try to create the Waldorf style face.
all it leaves me to say now is:
MERRY CHRISTMAS, thanks for stopping by
enjoy your day and craft happy. Ann

Merry Christmas - Teddy & Caragh Aoife

good morning crafters and welcome to my share for today

I'm sharing the final two cards I have created for my friend and I hope all the recipients enjoy them.
I must admit when Sue asked me to make her dog a Christmas card last year I thought she was having me on but I made her a card and this year Sue returned and asked me to make 2 birthday and 5 Christmas cards for her friends pooches how could i refuse.
as you can see I have pretty much stuck to the same/similar style for all 5 cards and I chose who's name adorned each card.
all my cards are 6x6" white base cards, a few dies, a cute image and they have all been painted with distress ink.
leading to the Christmas celebrations:
I hope you are all in the throws of preparing for Christmas I just need to pick up a few more pressies. thankfully I'm not the Christmas chef this year all I am making is the pudding: Sticky toffee pud has been requested so I need to check out James Martin's recipe as thats the best one I've tried so far.

all it leaves to say now is:
thanks for popping by, enjoy your day and craft happy. Ann

Merry Christmas

good morning crafters and welcome to my share for today.

well I have to say crafters as soon as these new stamps landed on my desk at work
I couldn't wait to get home and colour them up, I was really giddy with excitement
and I have to thank Tracy at dies to die for dispatching them promptly shortly after
they arrived from Bella land.
over the past few weeks I have been creating a lot of gifts using candles and as soon as I saw these little cuties the idea for my candle was hatched.

Natalie and the nut cracker have been coloured with prismacolor pencils and I have used a number of dies to create my background.
a little more info on the candle is that the image is removable and you will be left with a blank candle.
