Happy Birthday

 good morning crafters
popping in with a personal share today, a birthday card for my beautiful granddaughter Ruby.
a fabulous young lady who turned 12 yesterday and for her card i've used one of my saturated canary stamps: little ladybug and my colouring medium is: distress ink. i would normally die cut Ruby's name and add it to the card but i think the colours used for this card spell out her name beautifully.

i'm never quite sure how the paper will handle a bright red and i decided not to colour wash the background just in case the red bled, i need to add glossy accents to her eyes and wings, i'd ran out and had to order some more and sadly it won't be delivered in time for this post, so i am sharing minus the glossy accents but i will share the completed card at the end of an up coming post...

some of the items used:
distress ink, tonic dies, sakura glitter pen, mulberry roses, satin ribbon, memento ink, saturated canary stamp, sizzix sentiment stamps, spellbinder dies, mft sentiment stamp, white base card, off white card, granddaughter & personalised stamp from
stamping-all-day and maja design designer papers.

all it leaves me now to say is:
thanks for stopping by enjoy your day and
craft happy, Ann

happy birthday

hi, and good morning to all

today's share is a little shabby chic creation using one of the first stampingbella stamps i bought a good few years ago: Faith the fairy
i just wished she'd have wings but hey oh she is gorgeous.
the colour choices have been kept limited as i wanted an aged/vintage feel to the card. the image was coloured with my other images from my recent colourings that i shared but forgot to add it to the snaps i'd taken.

the card has been created by cutting down my designer and card stock papers to size, die cut my circles, scrapped all the edges of the papers and matted them together, stamped my sentiments, slotted my image behind my cut outs before i taped everything onto my base card. to complete i have attached my lace die cut and adhered my mulberry roses to finish.

last sunday's shopping spree at a local craft fair at bolton wanderers stadium (craftarama) was great i managed to pick up a few things like card blanks, new stamps and also a new stamping platform and i know i probably spent more than i intended, i bumped into the lovely Jen Nelson whilst browsing on dies to die for stand and i knew if i stayed there any longer i would have spent more but i managed to stock up on what i needed, yay.

on to what i have used.

a little colouring to share

hi and welcome to my share for today.
popping in with a little recent colouring fest i've done over the last few days using a variety of stamps from some of my fave brands.
i use rubber and polymer stamps for my distress ink projects as these give me the best results.
all the images have been painted with distress re-inkers and i've been trying out different colour combinations on my images from my ink pallet including colouring edna the bumblebee using colours for a carpenter bee which i'd chosen from a photo i'd seen on fb a few days ago and all the images are now waiting to be added to projects.
so in the next few weeks i will be sharing a variety of birthday cards using up these cute coloured images.

just a little background on some of the products i currently use. i have two brands of water colour card for my stamped images they are: langton and fabriano artistico, the langton i use hot press and cold press 140llb paper and i have a third brand to try out at some point and that's blockingford hp 140llb.

well that's all for today now to make some greeting cards to add to my stash.
thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and craft happy. Ann

happy birthday grand daughter

good morning crafters
sharing a personal card to my stash using a lovely image from stampingbella: bess the butterfly.

i've created a shabby style card using beautiful papers from maja design and my image has been painted with distress ink, an adorable card if i do say so myself.

to create my embellishment i have used a couple of dies from my stash adorned the card with mulberry roses, stamen's, flat back pearls and ultra fine glitter to complete the design. the sentiments i have used are from MFT: something for everyone and LOTV: family tags (retired).

i think i have been in a stampingbella trance as these are predominantly the only brand of images i have coloured recently and i have loved every minute.
i have prepared some of my other stamp brands and they are all in line to be coloured in the next couple of weeks.

happy birthday mum

good morning crafters.
i'm checking in with a new birthday card that will be added to my craft fair box. a very sweet and summery design plus i challenged my self again, after my successful shellabrate card where i created a background i thought i'd create another background without the help of a few stamps, i've gone all free hand...

i was so, so please when ally was released recently and i added her to my collection and when she was delivered i had a little light bulb moment and a little seed was planted, i thought i needed to pair ally and isabelle together and voila

sketchy start..

freshly coloured image

a couple of close ups

some of the items used to create my card.

not the layout i'd imagined but it is lovely.

to start with i stamped Ally on my blank fabriano paper, masked her and then stamped Isabelle matching her up with my marker lines around their feet, place one of my circular dies over the images and drew a pencil line 3/4's of the way round to give me my boundary for colouring, i also added a fine line to where the tree line was going to be. my images and background have been coloured with distress ink. i've die cut the coloured image with a circle die and put to one side while i added my papers, stamped sentiment, ribbon, flowers and other die cuts to my base card. i've added my image to a plain off white larger circle then added foam pads and placed it to the left of my design and finally added a bow.

here is what i've used:

inks:
fade resistant dye ink: memento - expresso truffle
Tim Holtz:  distress ink
colours:
vintage photo, tattered rose, worn lipstick, antique linen, walnut stain, shaded lilac, spun sugar, victorian velvet, broken china, tumbled glass, rusty hinge, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, mowed lawn, milled lavender, dusty concord, peeled paint, olde paper, forest moss, walnut stain.
Papers:
fabriano artistico water colour paper 140lb
Maja designs: 12" x 12" mums garden
linen card
