soft toy

good evening crafters
popping in with a new knitted soft toy that will be shortly heading her way to a new nursery
very soon to look after a new born baby.
i hope everyone is a safe and well in these exceptional times.

April knitted soft toy
my soft toy is knitted using natural fibres and bs polyester toy filling.

to complete my soft toy i have used a variety of yarns (most of which i have purchased on line from: theknitterattic and jamiesons of shetland)

April comes complete with a removeable dress, a cute ponytail with a beautiful bow in her hair to match the bow on her dress, her shoes, tights and jumper are fixed and cannot be removed.

the doll has been adapted from MJT doll pattern with alternative arms and legs.
the leg, body and head are all one piece which is a first for me and it took me a little trial and error to complete. my next doll will be a all in one doll (fingers crossed).

yarns used:
skin: Jamiesons spindrift
boots, tights, jumper and dress skirt: west yorkshire spinners 4ply
dress bodice: kidhaze silk
hair: jenny watson merino dk
features: dmc embroidary floss and a bees wax crayon.

stay safe, stay well and craft happy. Ann x

knitted doll & felted dolls head

good morning and welcome to my knitted share today.
i hope everyone is safe and well.

today's knitted doll has safely been delivered to her new home and i'm really pleased with how she has come together.
i have given her multi-coloured hair, white tights and a sweet dress that has been finished with a picot  edge.
as always my doll has been made using a variety of natural wool and has been filled using BS safety high loft polyester stuffing.

i thought that i would also share another form of doll making. i so love waldorf dolls and decided to try and create waldorf style doll that include a little felting, which i have purchased from dear little doll (pattern/workbook). it has had it's ups and downs (my fingers are like pin cushions and dam sore. note to self be careful )
sadly due to the pandemic a workshop i was going to attend next month has had to be cancelled so i am waiting patiently for when Debbie over at little oke dolls rearranges a workshop by Meglena from north coast dolls.

the two photos aren't the best

back to my knitted doll (it's much safer ha ha)

products used:
jamiesons spin drift - face & hands, west yorkspinners 4 ply - tights, bottom half of dress, jumper, debbie bliss & jenny watson dk pure merino - hair and kidsilk haze top of dress.
dmc embroidary floss and a bees wax crayon

a litle news on my card making:
i have done a little stamping and painting with my distress inks and will be sharing some of my cards soon.

stay safe, enjoy your day and craft happy.
